A spring male was found at Kingsgate Park, Yate on March 25th. Present from early morning where it was initially picked
up on call, it spent the day performing and showing well on and
off around the margins of the smaller lake on the east side of
the park. It was in song periodically when the triplet ...'chiff
chiff chiff weet weet diditdiditidit'...
was clearly heard.
This is the first documented
reference to this species in S. Gloucestershire. Also
present throughout the day on the March 26th.
Accepted by the BBRC in February 2018.
