MAY: A female was present at Horwood Farm, Wickwar on the 6th; Three present on the 10th and 31st in Lower Woods, Wickwar; A male was heard singing on Frith Lane, Wickwar on the 22nd.
Lower Woods, Inglestone Common near Wickwar; Two were heard in song with one seen in flight on May 5th at the west end of the woods where the main stream exits the wooded area; Up to four were reported in song on May 12th; Several were reported as present, singing and showing on May 27th; One was reported from Chipping Sodbury Common also on May 27th. As part of British Trust for Ornithology Nest Records Scheme and Nightingale Survey 2012; an active Nightingale nest with 4 eggs was been discovered (May 19th) at Lower Woods plus two further pairs, and an unpaired singing male.
