2020 (3)

APRIL: A male and female were noted on The Lake at Oldbury Power Station on the 16th; A male present on the 20th - 21st. AUGUST: An unconfirmed report of four, a female and three juveniles, on The Lake at Oldbury Power Station on the 18th. SEPTEMBER: An immature was present on Butts Pool, Pilning WR from the 5th - 24th.

 

2019

APRIL: A drake was present on Grebe Pond and Pilning Wetland Reserve from the 26th - 28th. Three, two males and a female on Pilning Wetland Reserve on the 29th - 30th. MAY: A male lingering around Northwick Warth/ Pilning Wetland Reserve on the 1st.

 

2018

APRIL: A male and female were seen on Pilning Wetland early morning on the 30th until May 1st. MAY: A pair were new arrivals on Butts Pool, Pilning Wetland on the 21st.

 

2017

AUGUST: Two A juvenile/ 1st winters were found on Pilning Wetland early morning on the 11th where they lingering until at least the 31st. SEPTEMBER: A juvenile/ female at Shepperdine on the 21st.

 

2016

APRIL: A drake was found in the morning on the 22nd on Grebe Pond, Pilning Wetland and was present throughout the day. MAY: A fine drake was found on Pilning Wetland on the 12th; A drake was seen on the shoreline at New Passage in the afternoon on the 16th and remained in the Pilning Wetland/ New Passage area until at least the 21st; A drake was seen on Pilning Wetland on the 28th - 30th. AUGUST: A juvenile/ 1st winter was found on Butt's Pool, Pilning Wetland late afternoon on the 25th lingering until at least September 11th.

 

2014

A male was present on Pilning Wetland on April 23rd and was joined by a second male on the 24th. Both were still on site on the 25th & 26th with one still present on the 30th.

 

2013

A male was present at Oldbury Power Station on April 3rd & 4th and again from the 6th - 20th; A male was seen on Western Distribution Park, Severn Beach on May 30th - 31st; An eclipse male was present at Oldbury Power Station on July 23rd; A juvenile was present at New Passage on September 24th and was relocated on Pilning Wetland from September 26th - October 17th.

 

2012

A male was found on Tesco Pool, Severn Beach around mid day on May 8th; A female was on the shoreline near Lagoon III at OPS on August 13th; Four were present at New Passage before relocating to Northwick Warth in the afternoon on August 14th with at least three still present on Northwick Warth on August 15th - 23rd; One was present on Northwick Warth Flashes on August 28th - 30th with two including a drake on August 30th; A female was noted on Northwick Warth Flashes on September 1st - 3rd.

 

2011

Two, a pair were reported on the lake behind the hide at Oldbury Power Station on October 26th.

 

2010

One, a juvenile, was seen on the estuary at Oldbury Power Station on September 18th - 20th where it also frequented Lagoon III and the lake. It reappeared here on October 2nd.

 

2008

An early male was seen at Oldbury Power Station between 08:00 - 08:30 on March 24th when it visited Lagoon III and was last seen flying low to the south-west; One was present at Oldbury Power Station on April 28th; Two including an eclipse male were present at Oldbury Power Station on Lagoon I on August 19th.

 

2006

A male was found on Lagoon I on April 23rd at Oldbury Power Station; A male was found on Grebe Pond, Northwick Warth on May 8th; A male was seen at Oldbury Power Station on May 14th; On August 9th one was reported from Oldbury Power Station; Two eclipse drakes were seen at New Passage on August 23rd.

 

2005

Four, including three males were seen off Severn Beach on April 1st; A male was noted at Oldbury Power Station on April 15th - 16th; One, a male was seen in flight at Severn Beach on May 5th; On May 16th a male was found at Severn Beach; Two were noted on October 22nd - 23rd at New Passage.

 

2004

A male was present on April 14th on Grebe Pond, Northwick Warth; A male was seen on May 11th at New Passage.

 

2002

One, a male on March 24th was seen at New Passage; A male on April 12th was found at Orchard Pools was joined by a second from the 16th with one remaining until May 3rd; Two on April 15th at Northwick Warth, both males, were present until April 24th; A male on April 30th at Northwick Warth, was present until May 9th; A male was seen at New Passage on the 9th May; A male and female on May 13th were also seen at Northwick Warth.

 

2001

On the August 10th a male was seen at Oldbury Power Station; An individual was found at Northwick Warth on August 11th; There was one on September 20th at New Passage followed by another on September 29th also at New Passage.

 

2000

On May 5th a male was found at Oldbury Power Station.

 

1999

On May 6th a male was located at Northwick Warth, it was subsequently recorded on May 7th, 16th and 17th.

 

1998

A single male was found on March 29th at New Passage.

 

1997

One was near Hallen on June 4th ; On June 10th two, a male and female were at Northwick Warth; On September 2nd an eclipse male was also seen at Northwick Warth.

 

1996

On April 11th a male was located at Northwick Warth.

 

1995

An up to seventeen individuals were present at Northwick Warth in a period from August 1st through until September 10th with a maximum count of six in August.

 

1994

On July 14th a female was at Northwick Warth; Two on July 31st were also at Northwick Warth, a male and female present until August 16th and on August 15th at Northwick Warth, another male joined the already present male and female with all three remaining until August 16th; On August 23rd at Northwick Warth a male was present until August 26th.

 

1993

On March 14th two, a male and female were at Northwick Warth; A male was seen on May 24th also at Northwick Warth; A male was present on August 22nd at Tortworth Lake.

 

1989

On May 5th there were two present at New Passage.

 

1983

On August 9th two were identified at Oldbury Power Station.

 

1982

A pair were seen in flight up river off Severn Beach on April 13th.
