Ringing Station on January 18th.
LATEST: . HIGHEST COUNT: Eight
(presumably calling males) were
reported from Western Distribution,
Severn Beach on May 18th.

EARLIEST: One heard near the 'flash' on
Northwick Warth on January 13th. LATEST: One
from Northwick Warth, New Passage on
December 13th. HIGHEST COUNT: At least four
at Severn Beach on April 21st. A record
breaking five at Oldbury Power Station on
November 8th.
2018
EARLIEST: One was present at Oldbury Power
Station on January 2nd. LATEST: One at
Orchard Pools, Severn Beach on December
23rd. HIGHEST COUNT: Three present on Lagoon
II, Oldbury Power Station on April 18th.
2017
EARLIEST: Birds noted from Pilning Wetland
and Oldbury Power Station on January 5th.
LATEST: One at Oldbury Power Station on
December 19th. HIGHEST COUNT: Two were
reported at Orchard Pools, Severn Beach on
May 13th an two on November 13th at Oldbury
Power Station.
2016
EARLIEST: One at Orchard Pools, Severn Beach
on January 10th. LATEST: One at Orchard
Pools, Severn Beach on December 18th.
HIGHEST COUNT: At least three were heard
calling repeatedly around the reedbed on
Lagoon II, Oldbury Power Station on June
18th.
2015
EARLIEST: One present and calling at dusk
from Lagoon III at Oldbury Power Station on
January 9th. LATEST: One was noted at
Orchard Pools, Severn Beach on December
29th. HIGHEST COUNT: Three were heard
'singing' in the evening at Oldbury Power
Station on December 7th.
2014
EARLIEST: One was heard from the small
reedbed in south-east corner of Lagoon II,
Oldbury Power Station on January 2nd.
LATEST: One was heard at Orchard Pools,
Severn Beach on November 19th. HIGHEST
COUNT: Three were reported from Oldbury
Power Station on April 10th. * It would
appear that the two fledgling birds seen
around Lagoon II at Oldbury Power Station on
June 21st are the first confirmed record of
breeding success of this species for S.
Glos!

EARLIEST: One 400 metres inside the S. Glos
boundary on Chittening Warth/ New Pill area
on April 26th. LATEST: One around by Lagoon
II, Oldbury Power Station on December 14th.
HIGHEST COUNT: Two in October, November and
December.
2011
Orchard Pools, Severn Beach: One was heard
at on January 24th.
2010
Orchard Pools, Severn Beach: One on April
14th and 17th; Severn Beach: One in brambles
along the railway line on September 12th;
New Passage: One at The Glen on October
18th, 22nd - 23rd and 31st; Northwick Warth:
One on October 23rd.
2009
Wick: One in scrub near the R. Boyd at Wick
Quarry from Raven's Rock raptor watch point
on the evening of May 21st with two on the
25th. It constitutes the first record of
this species at this site. Northwick Warth:
One trapped and ringed at Grebe Pond on
October 17th; One on November 15th and 28th.

site on September 17th. 2006 Severn Beach:
JANUARY: One on the 11th. MARCH: One on the
19th - 20th, 22nd and 31st. APRIL: One on
the April 1st - 3rd. JUNE: One on June 25th.
Oldbury Power Station: APRIL: One on the
5th, 17th, 22nd and 29th. MAY: Possibly two
on the 14th.

13th - 18th. DECEMBER: One on the 10th
present until 23rd. Orchard Pools: DECEMBER:
One on the 10th, 21st, 24th and 27th.
Oldbury Power Station: JUNE: A male singing
from the small pool behind Lagoon III on the
18th. (The first record for this site)

A presumed male heard calling on April 24th
at Littleton Brick Pits.

A juvenile was trapped, ringed and released
(RN: 957584 ) at Littleton Brick Pits,
Littleton-upon-Severn on July 23rd.
